Events and activities at Banstead Library

Special events

Arts clay mask workshop

  • Saturday 14 May, two sessions:
    • 10.30am until 12 noon and
    • 2pm until 3.30pm.

Both sessions are suitable for ages 6 to 14 years.

Limited spaces so booking necessary: free tickets are available at the helpdesk in the library, there are only 15 spaces per session.

All materials are child-friendly, children must wear appropriate clothing working with clay. All responsible adults are asked to remain in the library or nearby but not in the workshops due to restricted space. There will be sufficient adult helpers at the workshop.

The sessions are being run by the Arts Society Chipstead, with artist Abel Kesteven. Abel will be demonstrating how to make a clay mask which can stand up on a provided tile and children will be able to take their artwork home. Photographs will be taken of the event and the masks with parental permission.
