Storytime with Marielle Bayliss at Banstead Library

Thursday 29 May, from 10.15am to 10.45am.

The event is suitable for adults with children aged 5 to 7 years old.

Come and have some fun at this interactive storytelling session with author Marielle Bayliss who will be reading from her Neurons series of books.

The Neurons looks at six common neurodiverse conditions, what causes them and how they affect people with the condition. Each Neuron book looks at one condition in detail using playful characterisations of neurons, the human brain and central nervous system as well as six children with the conditions.

Pebble rhymetime and storytime

Pebble rhymetime

  • Every Tuesday from 10.15am until 10.45am
  • Every Friday from 10.15am until 10.45am

Please note: you now have to book for Rhymetime. Due to its popularity our Pebble Rhymetimes at Banstead Library will now be ticketed on a first come, first served, basis. Customers can come to the help desk and get a ticket from staff before the session. We can accommodate up to 25 adults with any of their children.

Storytime

Every Thursday from 10.15am until 10.45am

Places allocated on a first come first served basis. Tickets available from the library desk on the day.

Reading groups

There are currently two Reading Groups at this library. Both groups are currently full. The book groups are held in the library but are coordinated by the group members who set the meeting dates, times and books.

If you wish to set up an additional group, please speak to a member of staff in the library or please see our webpage, Starting a reading group.

Chatterbooks group

Saturdays from 11am until 12 midday, next session:

  • 10 May
  • 7 June

This group will be held on a Saturday, once every 4 to 6 weeks. It is suitable for children aged around 9 to 11 years old. The group will meet for a one hour session to discuss a book, to enjoy some crafts and activities and to be given the book to read for the next session.

If you are interested in joining this group please speak to a member of staff at the library.

Other events

Lego club

On Saturdays, from 2pm to 3pm on the following dates:

  • 10 May
  • 7 June

Don't forget to book a space on our next Lego Club. Only £1 per child (for ages 4 and above). Ask at the helpdesk or email banstead.library@surreycc.gov.uk

Knit and natter

Every Tuesday from 2pm until 3pm.

Digital support volunteer

Usually held on Wednesdays at 1pm and 2pm.

Do you want help using a computer, the internet, your iPad, tablet or iPhone, or other IT related problems?

Two digital support volunteers are now available at Banstead Library.
