All of our libraries are closed on bank holidays. Check libraries affected by bad weather.

The library is on four floors with the ground floor on three levels linked by ramps and there is a wheelchair accessible lift between floors.

The library has a automatic doors and a hearing loop is installed. It has assistive technology for people with disabilities. Please see: Library services for people with disabilities, for further information.

Parking

There are several nearby pay and display multi-storey car parks in the town centre and some pay and display short stay on-street parking further down North Street. There are two disabled spaces outside the front of the library.

The Guildford Library of Things is a partnership between Surrey Library Service, Active Surrey and Zero Carbon Guildford. There is a special Fit Kit collection, with a variety of sports and exercise equipment that people can borrow for free, including cricket and rounder sets, walking poles and a boccia kit. Surrey Libraries have secured funding as part of a successful National Lottery bid led by Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) to deliver Green Library Hubs across the UK.

Guildford Library aims to foster climate-conscious communities and provide trusted environmental information aligned with the council’s sustainability strategy.

As a Green Library Hub, Guildford Library will host key events such as children's workshops and adult talks encouraging climate action and supporting the local economy.
