More libraries and services to reopen from 17 August

Ashford Library will reopen on Tuesday 18 August and Addlestone Library on Tuesday 25 August.

From Monday 17 August the services at the 12 click and collect libraries that opened on 3 August will be extended and the Public will be allowed in the buildings to browse the collections and use the computers. These libraries are: Ash, Banstead, Bookham, Caterham Hill, Chertsey, Dittons, Ewell, Hersham, Knaphill Leatherhead, Reigate and Walton. Please check the opening times before you visit.

From Tuesday 18 August a further 14 libraries will be reopened offering a click and collect door service. This service will be available from the following libraries: Ashtead, Caterham Valley, Cobham, Cranleigh, Esher, Frimley Green, Haslemere, Horsley, Merstham, Molesey, Shepperton, Stanwell, Sunbury and West Byfleet. Please check the opening times before you visit.

Click and collect service

The click and collect door service allows customers to return their items, collect Ready Reads and reserved books. However, the public will not be allowed into the buildings for the time being.

Surrey libraries computer access

Computer access is now available at the following libraries: Camberley, Dorking, Egham, Epsom, Farnham, Godalming, Guildford, Horley, Oxted, Redhill, Staines, Weybridge and Woking. Please read the guidelines for use on our Coronavirus information page

The library service is working hard to increase library opening hours but these will be built back up over time due to the additional capacity needed to manage the new required measures. Visit the Coronavirus information page to keep up to date with which libraries and services are open.

All of our libraries are closed on bank holidays. Check libraries affected by bad weather.

The library is on four floors with the ground floor on three levels linked by ramps and there is a wheelchair accessible lift between floors.

The library also has a rollator/walker for use in the library and staff are happy to obtain stock where access is difficult.

The library has a automatic doors and a hearing loop is installed. It has assistive technology for people with disabilities. Please see: Library services for people with disabilities, for further information.

Guildford library is situated near the top of North Street in Guildford town centre.

There are several nearby pay and display multi-storey car parks in the town centre and some pay and display short stay on-street parking further down North Street. There are two disabled spaces outside the front of the library.
