Charges for audio visual items

More libraries and services to reopen from 17 August

Ashford Library will reopen on Tuesday 18 August and Addlestone Library on Tuesday 25 August.

From Monday 17 August the services at the 12 click and collect libraries that opened on 3 August will be extended and the Public will be allowed in the buildings to browse the collections and use the computers. These libraries are: Ash, Banstead, Bookham, Caterham Hill, Chertsey, Dittons, Ewell, Hersham, Knaphill Leatherhead, Reigate and Walton. Please check the opening times before you visit.

From Tuesday 18 August a further 14 libraries will be reopened offering a click and collect door service. This service will be available from the following libraries: Ashtead, Caterham Valley, Cobham, Cranleigh, Esher, Frimley Green, Haslemere, Horsley, Merstham, Molesey, Shepperton, Stanwell, Sunbury and West Byfleet. Please check the opening times before you visit.

Click and collect service

The click and collect door service allows customers to return their items, collect Ready Reads and reserved books. However, the public will not be allowed into the buildings for the time being.

Surrey libraries computer access

Computer access is now available at the following libraries: Camberley, Dorking, Egham, Epsom, Farnham, Godalming, Guildford, Horley, Oxted, Redhill, Staines, Weybridge and Woking. Please read the guidelines for use on our Coronavirus information page

The library service is working hard to increase library opening hours but these will be built back up over time due to the additional capacity needed to manage the new required measures. Visit the Coronavirus information page to keep up to date with which libraries and services are open.

Audio visual materials such as DVDs can be hired by the week for a weekly charge which is marked on them.

Not every library has the full range of audio visual materials available. Check what is available at your local library.

Overdue charges are 50p per open day if the hire charge is £3 or 60p if £6 (Maximum £10).
Information DVD Free.
Overdue charges are 30p per open day (maximum charge £9). If borrowed on an open ticket adult card the charges will be 15p per day (maximum £4.30).
Music CD (1 week loan) Single: £1.
Set of two or more: £1.50.
Overdue charges will be 28p per open day (maximum charge £8.40).
Spoken word CD (3 week loan) Single or set of two: £1.50.
Set of three or more: £3
Overdue charges will be 30p per open day (maximum charge £9).
Spoken word CDs - children (3 week loan) Free.
Overdue charges: there are no overdue charges if items were borrowed using an early years, children's or young adult's ticket.
If items are borrowed on an adult ticket the charges will be 10p per open day (maximum £3). If borrowed on an open ticket adult card the charges will be 5p per open day (maximum £1.50).
Language courses on CD

Free.
Overdue charges will be 30p per open day (maximum charge £9). If borrowed on an open ticket adult card the charges will be 15p per day (maximum £4.30).
