We select, you collect
Due to ongoing refurbishment work and temporary closures within the library service, we are able to provide a Ready Reads, click and collect book collection from the affected libraries.
The libraries team will handpick a selection of books according to your preferences, and you can collect them from your selected library.
Our teams are experts at choosing good books and they are looking forward to using their experience and knowledge to help you discover your next great read. We hope signing up for Ready Reads will give you a chance to try something new. Who knows, you may just discover your next favourite author!
If however you know exactly which books you want to read next, please use our Library catalogue as usual to reserve specific books.
You can sign up for Ready Reads by using our simple Ready Reads request form. This is only activated when we have implemented a Click and Collect service for a library or set of libraries. See section below, Libraries currently offering a Ready Reads service.
Libraries currently offering a Ready Reads service
Guildford Library will offer a Click and Collect service including Ready Reads from Monday 21 September. Our libraries team will select a collection of books based on your reading preferences for you to collect from Guildford Library. Please note that some restrictions will apply to the range of titles available.
If you believe a particular book is on the shelves at Guildford Library, we will do our best to find it for you. We cannot guarantee that all such requests can be fulfilled. To facilitate the refurbishment works, a proportion of Guildford Library's stock has been packed into large storage crates which are not accessible to staff, meaning some items may not be available even if they appear on the catalogue.
Some areas of stock will be inaccessible for Ready Reads due to the refurbishment, these include: children's stock (we will have some available where we hold click and collect for customers to look through), Biography, Food, Health, Homes and Gardens and Mind, body and Spirit.

Terms and conditions
1. This service is currently free to allow some access to books during our library closure period.
2. The service will aim to contact customers within 5 working days, but this will vary according to demand.
3. This service can only be used by applying in advance through the digital form or by calling the Contact Centre on 03456 009 009 (select option 7). Requests on the door will not be possible.
4. The service is intended for library staff to select books in subject matters the customer is interested in. The library service cannot select individual titles. If a customer wishes to select an individual title, they should use the usual reservation service.
5. Standard charges apply to audio/visual items.
6. Customers must take care when providing contact details as any incorrect information may result in their request not being processed.
7. Books will only be selected from within the library of collection.
8. Items borrowed using the Ready Reads service count towards customers' overall borrowing limits.
Privacy statement
The data you provide will only be used to process your requests for Ready Reads book collection service and provide you with information about the book collection service. It will not be shared with third parties. Your data will be retained for a maximum of two years from the end of the book collection service.
