I Am Bird

"I AM Bird" is a new immersive experience presenting stories of migration. Equipped with their own headphones and mobile phones, audiences will be transported on an epic adventure across the library, following the extraordinary and everyday story of a young bird migrating from West Africa to the UK.

I Am Bird will be delivered by Surrey Libraries and Farnham Maltings.

At each station, visitors are invited to make choices leading them to miniature paper worlds and follow clues hidden around the library, each revealing a different element of the bird's migratory journey.

The show is experienced via a mobile website and each adult should bring their own mobile phone and headphones. Splitters and spare headphones are available in case you want to attend the experience with a child.

This experience will appeal to adults and children from aged 8+. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

At each session you will be introduced to different stories and provided fun activities to enjoy at the library or to take home. Listen to stories read aloud, enjoy fun activities and get your own library activity book. There are stickers to gain and even characters that you can collect each time you return to the library.

Our main aim is to provide an interactive library experience to help more families discover the joy of reading and all families with children from 0 to 5 years old are welcome.
