Foster Care fortnight: Pop-up stand

  • Monday 18 May, 1pm to 3pm.
  • Tuesday 19 May, 12 noon to 2pm.
  • Friday 22 May, 1pm to 3pm.

Could fostering be your next chapter? To celebrate Foster Care Fortnight, we are hosting ‘Local Libraries, Local Care’ drop-in sessions in Surrey libraries. To find out what fostering is all about, come and visit our stand.

Crafternoon

Wednesday 10 June, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

We will be trying card making, weaving and other crafts in general.

Event free, no booking necessary, just turn up.

Pebble rhymetime and storytime

Pebble rhymetime

  • Every Tuesday at 11am. No session on 26 May.
  • Every Thursday at 11am.
  • Every Saturday at 11am.

No booking required.

Reading groups

Tuesday evening reading group

Third Tuesday of the month, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. If you are interested in joining this group, please speak to a member of staff in Godalming Library.

Godalming library reading group

First Thursday of the month, from 2pm until 3pm.

Chatterbooks reading group

Fourth Thursday of every month from 4pm until 5pm.

The Chatterbooks reading group is suitable for ages 8 to 10 years.

Please email Godalming.library@surreycc.gov.uk to register your interest or for more information.

First Friday of the month from 2pm until 3pm.

Hearing Aid clinic

The Hearing Aid Clinic is provided by National Health Service (NHS) trained volunteers. Free hearing aid maintenance, battery changes and advice. NHS supplied hearing aids only. No booking is required.

Third Monday of the month from 10.30am until 12.30pm, on the following dates:

Knit and stitch

Alternate Monday afternoons from 2pm.

Bring your own craft project to work on and meet new people. Open to everyone and all crafts are welcome!

Every Monday from 4pm until 5pm

Lego suitable for ages 6+ or Duplo available for younger children aged 2 to 5.

Sessions cost £1. No booking needed, just drop-in.

What next? Wednesdays

Wednesdays from 3pm until 4pm. Upcoming dates:

Join local charity, What Next, for a walk on the Godalming Lammas Lands to explore the many insects, mammals and amphibians and plants that can be found there.

For adults and children aged 8+. Donations Welcomed.

Godalming library Reading Friends poetry group

Godalming Library invites you to join our friendly and informal Poetry Group.

We will be meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 2pm and have the following themes planned:

  • 21 May: Footwear
  • 18 June: Lost and found

No specialist knowledge is required, just an interest in sharing our enjoyment of poetry. We will be reading some poetry and talking about the poems and poets we love.

You can express an interest in joining the Godalming library Reading Friends poetry group by completing our Reading friends participant application form.

French conversation group

Meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 2pm to 3pm. All Welcome!

German conversation group

Meets on the last Friday of the month from 10.30am until 11.30am. This group is now full. Please contact the library to be added to the waiting list.

Digital support volunteer

Free, one to one, 45 minute computer help sessions.

Appointments are available on:

  • Mondays at 10am, 10.45am and 11.30am.
  • Fridays at 2pm, 2.45pm and 3.30pm.
