An Afternoon with actress and writer Madeline Smith

Join us at Esher Library for a special afternoon with actress and author Madeline Smith.

Esher Library presents the latest of their popular author talks, this time with Madeline Smith who will be celebrating the publication of her memoir, Madeline Smith, Bond Girl: From 60s Fashion Model to Half a Century on Stage and Screen.

About the book:

Madeline Smith, Bond Girl is the long-awaited memoir of actress and model Madeline Smith, whose extraordinary career began in the vibrant world of 1960s fashion when she went from shop assistant to model for the iconic Biba brand almost overnight. In this candid and engaging autobiography, Madeline reflects on her remarkable journey through the worlds of fashion, film, television and theatre, bringing to life the glamour, excitement and challenges of an era that shaped popular culture.

Tickets cost £6. Please purchase a ticket for each person attending.

An afternoon with Sophia Jane (S.J.) Bennett

Monday 19 October, from 2pm to 3pm.

Best selling author Sophie Jane (S.J.) Bennett will be appearing at Esher Library to talk about the latest in the "Her Majesty Investigates" series, "Death on the Royal Yacht".

This event is suitable for adults.

Booking necessary.  Tickets cost: £6. Please purchase a ticket for every person attending.

Reading groups

Chatterbooks children's reading group

Meets every 4 to 6 weeks.

For children aged 8 to 11 years. For more details, please ask a member of staff in the library.

Other events

Art and drawing club for adults

Every Wednesday 10.30am to 12 noon.

Think you cannot draw but enjoy some doodling ? Have a go at drawing with us! All levels are welcome and we offer a light, airy atmosphere to discover the artist within you here at Esher Library.

Light refreshments will be available.

Please note: The art and drawing club is currently full. Please speak to a member of staff if you are interested in joining the club.

Esher library from time to time run other art and drawing related one off events so keep an eye out for these.

Needlework club

First Thursday of every month at 10.30am.

Bring you embroidery, needlework or cross stitch project to work on or start. You will be in the company of other stitchers. No experience necessary. A supportive environment to build confidence in your needlework and share tips over a cup of coffee.

Free to attend but a small donation towards tea/ coffee is appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Poetry hub

Meets Thursdays at 2pm. Upcoming dates: 13 August

Offering interactive sessions, readings, poetry writing, in a fun, relaxed, community-focused, encouraging environment.

Sessions are free and no booking required. All ages are welcome.

Lego Club

Esher Library are planning to start a LEGO club. The club will run every other Saturday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Please express you interest by emailing esher.library@surreycc.gov.uk.

Digital support volunteer

Every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm.

Do you want help using a computer, the internet, your iPad, tablet or iPhone, or other IT related problems?

Appointment only. Please book a place by speaking to a member of staff at Esher Library or email esher.library@surreycc.gov.uk
