An evening with Kate Thompson
Tuesday 29 September, 7pm to 8pm. Please arrive 10 minutes early.
Join bestselling author Kate Thompson to discover the wartime stories behind her novel The Secret Society of Librarians.
Kate Thompson's latest novel, The Secret Society of Librarians is a must-read for book lovers and library enthusiasts alike.
Based on a true story, it highlights the power of books to bring hope in times of darkness, and celebrates women's resilience in even the most desperate circumstances.
Tickets cost: £4. Please purchase a ticket for each person attending.

Monday makers
Meet monthly on Mondays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Upcoming dates: Check with the library.
Monday Makers, a creative session for children, with different activities each month!
Suitable for ages 3+.
Cost: £1 per child.
Drop-in event, no booking necessary.
Crochet, knit and natter
Every Friday, from 10.15am to 12.15pm.
Bring along your craft project and join up with other like minded people.
Free event but donations welcome.
Interactive and engaging games projector (Obie)
Obie is an interactive projector that brings active play to floors, tables, and walls. The projector has pre-installed games which are specifically designed to be engaging for children.
The Ash Library projector is installed on the floor, so it encourages children to move whilst having fun. There are games that encourage collaborations, others such as puzzle and memory games are designed to engage the brain, whilst the action games help to get children moving more.
Obie is available during library opening times except during Storytime and Rhymetime (Thursday and Saturday, from 10.30am to 11am) and is free.
Digital support volunteer
There is currently no Digital Support Volunteer service at Ash Library.
