An evening with Matt Graydon - Author talk at Ash Library
Friday 18 October, from 6pm to 7.30pm
Join us at Ash Library for an afternoon with local author Matt Graydon as he talks about his book Leaving Fatherland. Leaving Fatherland is his first novel and provides a different take on what it was like to be in the Luftwaffe during WW2. With scenes inspired by real events, it follows book-loving protagonist Oskar from his childhood in Nazi Germany to New York City and beyond, as he struggles to come to terms with his father's abuse.
The session will end with some audience questions and a book signing.
Tickets cost £5.

Other events
Obie interactive projector
Obie is an interactive projector that brings active play to floors, tables, and walls. The projector has pre-installed games which are specifically designed to be engaging for children. The Ash Library projector is installed on the floor, so it encourages children to move whilst having fun. There are games that encourage collaborations, others such as puzzle and memory games are designed to engage the brain, whilst the action games help to get children moving more.
Obie is available during library opening times except during Storytime and Rhymetime (Tuesday and Thursday, 10.30 to 11am) and is free.
Digital Buddy
Available every Thursday from 10am until 12 noon.
