New strategy launched to safeguard against environmental impacts
A new Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Strategy, known as "Surrey Adapt" has been developed to address the impacts of climate change in Surrey, including heatwaves, wildfires, droughts, floods and storms. Climate change adaptation is about responding to risks that we are already facing and will likely amplify in coming years.
We will be working in partnership with local authorities and other key partners such as large landowners, utilities and infrastructure owners, central government, businesses and more to deliver the plan.
A launch event was recently chaired by Cabinet Member for Environment, Marisa Heath, and also included a panel of speakers including representatives from Surrey Wildlife Trust and NHS Surrey Heartlands.
Visit the Surrey's climate change adaptation and resilience strategy webpage for more information and to find out how you can play your part.
