Countryside

Our countryside

Surrey has an abundance of beautiful countryside for everyone to enjoy including the nationally designated Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are over 2,000 miles of public paths across the county to explore. Our countryside is made up of five main habitat types, all of which contribute to biodiversity: chalk grassland and downland, woodland, heathland and waterways.
