The Mum Club buggy-friendly walk at Newlands Corner

Join the Mum Club Guildford for their June walking club event at Newlands Corner! A gentle, 30-minute, buggy-friendly circular walk through nature.

Wood carving experience in Norbury Park

Join the Wild!...About Coffee team for a wood carving experience around their fire pit in the beautiful setting of Norbury Park near Leatherhead. Learn knife skills and woodland craft techniques from an expert in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Summer wildflower and tree identification workshops at Sheepleas

Join wildlife guide Susy Dixon-Jones to learn about the huge array of wildflowers and trees at Sheepleas near Guildford. This leisurely walk will take you through the stunning nature reserve where you will explore the different habitats and ecology and discover the enormous variety of rare, interesting plant life.

Meet the cows walk at Puttenham Common

Join the Hampton Estate for a walk and talk on Puttenham Common to meet the Sussex cows. This is an opportunity for you to learn more about their 100-year vision and exciting nature restoration project. Head out and find the cows using their new No-Fence system and then will talk through why the cows are such ecological engineers on the common, restoring the precious heathland habitat.

Heathland Hounds Pop-Up at Chobham Common

Come down and say 'hi' to our friends from Heathland Hounds at their next pop-up at Chobham Common. A great opportunity to find out more about the precious heathland habitat on Chobham Common and understand more about the importance of protecting the rare ground nesting birds by keeping dogs under control and paws on paths.

Dusk bird and moth walk on Puttenham Common

Join expert ornithologist Dave Green on a magical dusk walk around Puttenham Common to learn all about the wildlife that call this place their home. On the walk we will set up a moth trap together to find the heathland moths and head out to listen to nightjars singing. The walk will start and end at Top Car Park on Puttenham Common, we will be walking for about 2 hours.

Volunteer at Tice's Meadow

Come and join our rangers and volunteer at Tice's Meadow near Farnham. Tasks might include; clearing vegetation, maintaining paths, fence and gate repairs, habitat management, wildlife surveys and more.

We have volunteer sessions running on the following dates:

  • Date: Friday 20 June
  • Place: Tice's Meadow. Please meet at Horton's Mound which is shown on our interpretation boards around the site.
  • Time: 10am to 2pm

Norbury Park show and tell event

Come along and find out more about the historic parkland of Norbury Park, a much-valued site for recreation, farming, woodland and nature between Leatherhead and Dorking. Meet our Countryside Estate team and volunteers and see them demonstrating traditional woodland management skills including log splitting. Browse a selection of stands and displays and enjoy a walk and talk session to learn more about the flora, fauna and history of this beautiful park.

Spectacular bats experience at Sheepleas

Join wildlife guide Susy Dixon-Jones for an immersive and informative bat watching experience at Sheepleas. You’ll learn how to use a bat detector to tune into the unique sounds of different bat species, and even discover how to tell them apart by flight pattern! We’ll marvel at Pipistrelles hawking and long eared bats hovering along the hedgerows, and big noctule and serotine bats fluttering high over the trees. This is a truly atmospheric and fascinating wildlife watching experience.
