Wild about running

Join in with this free 5 kilometre trail run through the beautiful surroundings of Norbury Park near Leatherhead. Open to all ages and abilities.

  • Date: Sunday 1 March
  • Place: Meet at the Wild! About Coffee Landrover in Norbury Park (next to the Woodland Hub). Follow directions to the woodland hub as shown on our interpretation boards around site.
  • Time: Warm up and safety briefing at 8.30am, run starts sharp at 9am.

Spaces are limited so please sign up in person at the Landrover or via the Take that Booking web page.

This event takes place on the first Sunday of every month.


Volunteer at Tice's Meadow

Come and join our rangers and volunteer at Tice's Meadow near Farnham. Tasks might include; clearing vegetation, maintaining paths, fence and gate repairs, habitat management, wildlife surveys and more. We have volunteer sessions running on the following dates:

  • Date: Friday 6, 13 and 27 March and Saturday 21 March
  • Place: Tice's Meadow. Please meet at Horton's Mound which is shown on our interpretation boards around the site.
  • Time: 10am to 2pm

Heathland Hounds pop-up at Wisley and Ockham Commons

Join the Heathland Hounds (part of the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership) for one of their pop-up events this time at Wisley and Ockham Commons. Find out more about the wildlife that inhabit the common and why it's important to keep dogs under control to protect rare ground nesting birds from March to September.

  • Date: Wednesday 25 March
  • Place: Wren's Nest car park, GU23 6QD, Wisley Common
  • Time: 10am to midday

Wildfire Awareness Week at Basingstoke Canal Centre

We welcome you to come and join Thames Basin Heath Partnership for free, family-friendly activities with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. Meet local crews, get up close to fire engines (emergencies permitting), see the equipment used to tackle wildfires and find out how to help protect our countryside by learning how to #BeWildfireAware.

This event is free to attend, suitable for all ages, and especially great for families with school‑age children. Drop in at any point during the advertised time. Well‑behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

No booking required.

Easter Holiday Activities at Basingstoke Canal Centre

Step into spring and make the most of the Easter holidays with a fantastic programme of hands‑on activities, outdoor adventures and seasonal fun for all ages at the Basingstoke Canal.
  • Date: Saturday 28 March to Sunday 12 April
  • Place: Basingstoke Canal Centre, Mytchett
  • Activities: Easter Egg-splorer Trail (£4.50, including a prize), Easter Colouring Competition (£1 per entry), Daily unpowered Boat hire, Trips aboard Rosebud (trips run Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
