Surrey History Centre in Woking collects and preserves the records of Surrey's past and present, documenting the story of the county and its people from the 12th century to the 21st century. Visiting the centre to use our collections is free, staff are always happy to offer advice, and we have a busy programme of exhibitions, talks and events.

Surrey History Centre reopening

We are now pleased to welcome visitors back to Surrey History Centre for pre-booked access to our unique collections. We are initially reopening with reduced hours and capacity and a range of health and safety measures.

In line with government advice, face coverings must be worn by visitors to Surrey History Centre unless you are exempt. Find out if you are exempt from wearing face coverings.

We're still open online, sharing information about our collections, online talks, activities and other resources via our e-newsletter and on our social media channels.

Opening times

  • Monday - closed
  • Tuesday - 9.45am to 12.45pm and 1.45pm to 4.45pm
  • Wednesday - 9.45am to 12.45pm and 1.45pm to 4.45pm
  • Thursday - 9.45am to 12.45pm and 1.45pm to 4.45pm
  • Friday - closed
  • Saturday - closed

The Centre is closed on Sundays and Bank Holiday weekends (including Saturdays).
