Public Footpath 197 (Shere)
Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024

On 11 July 2024 Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 197 (Shere) from point A (Grid reference: 506939 143319) to point B (Grid reference: 507018 143334) shown as a solid bold line on plan reference: 3/1/68/H51.

The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to plant, machinery and vehicle movements on or near the highway due to filming. The closure will be in operation for a period of 12 days from 15 July 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from point A will be to follow the track heading South East from Public Footpath 197 (Shere) for 67 metres, then follow the track North East for 67 Metres to meet Public Footpath 197 (Shere) at point B.

The alternative route for traffic from point B will be the reverse of the route described above.
