Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024

On 01 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway No. 566 (Cranleigh) from point A (Grid ref: 501809 143560) where Public Bridleway 261 (Wonersh) intersects the bridleway in a generally southerly direction to point B (Grid ref: 504865 139277) where Public Footpath 460 (Cranleigh) intersects the Bridleway marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/2/H19.

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to forestry work to respond to Ash Die Back.

The closure will be in operation for a period of 9 weeks from 05 February 2024 until 31 March 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

There is no alternative route.

'The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No.566. (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024' was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) and 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
