On 7 July 2026 the officer with delegated authority in consultation with the relevant divisional members agreed with the recommendation of the officer that the application be rejected. This was on the grounds that there was sufficient evidence of a lack of intention to dedicate a right of way over the majority of the affected land to negate any claim to a public right of way over the land, and that there was insufficient evidence of use over the remainder of the claimed route for public rights to have been acquired.
