iPad Digital Skills & Confidence - Stage 3

Course intent

This course is for Apple iPad users who want to discover the iWorks Office Suite. It looks at Pages, Numbers and Keynote to enable Learners to create word processed documents such as letters and reports, spreadsheets to record financial data and presentations such as posters.

How to Apply

There are three ways to apply on this course. You can:

• complete the form on our website;
• call us on 0300 200 1044, 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday; or
• visit one of our centres.

We'll evaluate your skills and provide a course offer, which you must accept to secure your place.

What will we cover?

By the end of the course, you will have covered most of the following: -

• How to layout documents such as letters and reports
• Editing text (including tips for quick editing)
• Creating spreadsheets for recording data
• Performing simple calculations with the Sum function
• How to create a poster with text and objects (pictures and shapes)
• How to select text, data and objects
• Enhancing documents with formats such as bolds, underlines, italics, fonts, sizes, colours and alignments
• Saving, printing, opening, closing and sharing documents
• Cut, copy and paste
• Using the Files App to organise documents including making Folders
• Introducing Social Media apps
• Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

  Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

  This course is for anyone who:

• Already uses an iPad and wants to know how to create, edit and format documents.
• May have already completed iPad Digital Skills & Confidence - Stages 1 to 2
• Is considering moving from a Windows laptop to an Apple iPad

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring with you the following items:

• iPad and charger
• Notebook and pen

  You may like to progress onto another Surrey Adult learning course, such as:

• EDSQ for iPads Entry Level 3

Or your tutor will advise you where to look if you wish to do something else
