Course intent

You will start to build a professional looking website using a free online web building tool. You will learn the basics of hypertext markup language (HTML) used to write websites and explore the basics to designing a good website.

• visit one of our centres.

We'll evaluate your skills and provide a course offer, which you must accept to secure your place.

What will we cover?

• Identify a suitable template

• Change company or personal details
• Change the visual elements of a site
• Operate the side bar to add new elements to a site
• Add a blog
• Learn about hosting, registering a name and publishing your site.
• Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Anyone with some prior knowledge of computers and the Internet and would like to learn about creating a website.

You should have basic mouse and keyboard skills and be able to create and save files and folders.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

• A notebook and pen.

• Handouts and exercises will be provided.
• You must have an email address as this will be required during the registration process for the website
