Apple Mac - Digital Skills & Confidence - Stage 2

Course intent

This course aims to strengthen participants' existing foundation knowledge of Apple Mac and elevate their skills to an intermediate level. By delving into a diverse array of robust applications and features, participants will unlock the full potential of their Mac devices. The course covers various topics such as multimedia apps, organisation tools, document creation and formatting, spreadsheet management, and efficient file handling. Throughout the course, participants will gain comprehensive insights and practical experience to enhance their proficiency with Apple Mac.

    There are three ways to apply on this course. You can:

    • complete the form on our website;
    • call us on 0300 200 1044, 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday; or
    • visit one of our centres.

    We'll evaluate your skills and provide a course offer, which you must accept to secure your place.

    What will we cover?

    • Use various apps, such as Podcasts, Maps, and Music.

    • Browse and effectively navigate the iTunes Store to download music, apps, books, and other digital content.
    • Create slideshows and other projects using the Photos app.
    • Organise email effectively by using smart mailboxes and other advanced features of the Mail app.
    • Set up notifications, use Notes for organisation, and synchronise data across Apple devices.
    • Improve confidence in file management and location using advanced features of Finder.
    • Explore additional Mac features, including split screen functionality and multiple desktops.
    • Create and format documents using applications such as Pages.
    • Create and format spreadsheets using applications such as Numbers.
    • Edit and customise spreadsheet layouts.
    • Add objects such as photos, shapes, and charts into documents and worksheets.
    • Use templates to populate data or text.
    • Print, save, and share documents and spreadsheets in various formats to suit different needs.

    For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.
