Flower Arranging - Contemporary Curls & Cones - Beginners & Improvers [SSK]

Course intent

Celebrate the beautiful flowers and foliage that grow during the Summer. On this one day course, you will learn the skills you need to create contemporary designs, including the forms and techniques required for leaf manipulation to enhance any floral design.

What will we cover?

● Preparation of flowers and foliage (leaves) ● Matching flowers and foliage in your designs ● Principles & Elements of floral design to create minimal and contemporary designs. ● How to care for your design ● Using tools and equipment safely ● Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values ● The importance of a clean and tidy studio.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is suitable for all levels of ability.

No previous experience is necessary as you will learn step by step, to ensure you create the perfect contemporary designs. If you have taken a flower arranging course before, your tutor will help you refine your design skills and try new ideas and techniques.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You will need to bring your own flowers and leaves, and a list of materials will be sent out before this workshop. You will also need to bring: ● Scissors ● Bucket for your flowers and leaves ● Plastic sheet or covering to work on. ● Small knife. ● Camera, notebook & Pen for helping you to remember the different stages of each design. ● An apron is optional ● Packed lunch and drink

What can I do when I finish the course?

Further short courses and one day flower arranging workshops are available that cover a range of topics from seasonal specialities and themed designs.

Learners can also progress onto other Arts & Crafts courses with SAL.
