Do you have a fascination with the universal truths of greed, power, love and hate? Would you like to know more about Guildford’s unique role in shaping British history? Then this is the course for you

What will we cover?

In this lecture, we will explore what makes Guildford special. We will examine its history from Saxon England to the modern day. Norman castles, medieval monarchs, Archbishop George Abbot, Alice in Wonderland and Alan Turing will all feature in the talk, and much more.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Our lectures are suitable for all abilities. No prior knowledge is required, just an interest in history and culture.

This lecture will be delivered in English, so please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

If you wish to take notes, please bring a notepad and pen.

What can I do when I finish the course?

You will become more aware of your local environment and your personal experience within it.
