Jewellery & Silverwork – Sea Glass Pendant Workshop [SSK]

Course intent

On this one-day workshop you will be learn the skills to design and make your own silver and sea glass pendant. During this step-by-step workshop, your tutor will demonstrate each technique and guide you through each stage of the process to make your finished pendant.

What will we cover?

• Designing your pendant

• Bezel making
• Soldering
• Cutting out/piercing your pendant shape
• Filing
• Setting your Sea Glass into your pendant
• Polishing

  Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

  Beginners and those with some experience are welcome.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

• Sea glass if you have some – there will be a choice of pieces if you haven’t any or the piece that you bring isn’t suitable

• Sea glass should be no more than 4mm thick
• A plain notebook and pencil
• Wear closed toe shoes
• Remove long scarves
• Long hair to be tied back
• An apron or wear old clothes

  What can I do when I finish the course?

  In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto our other jewellery courses – daytime, evenings or one day workshops, including further summer skills workshops with your tutor Vikki.

  Additional information

  We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities but there is no step-free access to the Jewellery studio. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
