Watercolour Painting & An Introduction to Mixed Media - All Abilities

Course intent

The intent is to provide inclusive learning in the community which enhances personal development, encourages learners to live healthy, active lives and improves employability and skills.

You will focus on developing a bold painting through direct observation using expressive techniques including soft pastels, charcoal, ink and watercolour, with an introduction to mixed media techniques.

What will we cover?

You will learn to:

  • Distinguish the use of tone, colour, and composition through practice, discussion and demonstration.
  • Gain experience using watercolour and mixed materials
  • Review their work through group discussion and one to one support.
  • Develop confidence in using the techniques and methods of working with this fascinating medium.

This course will build on past learning, week by week, to develop new abilities. You will find your own progress much easier if you attend every lesson.

Advanced courses are for those who have substantial previous experience, are capable of working quite independently, and who wish to develop with the support and guidance of a tutor.

Mixed Ability courses are suitable for those with any level of previous experience.
