Oil & Acrylic Painting (with Model for 1 week)

Course intent

You will learn a range of basic methods of acrylic and oil painting through the use of photographs, researched images or direct observation. There will be a (clothed) model on one week, so you will get started with life drawing/painting skills and we will also introduce an element of Oil Painting.

Enjoy the well-being benefits gained through working in a friendly, creative learning environment.

What will we cover?

• Working healthily and safely

  • Distinguish the use of tone, colour, composition and perspective
  • Practise the use of various techniques, brushwork and textural effects
  • Gain confidence in using materials and be encouraged to take part in group discussions and have access to one-to-one support
  • Painting from a live model
  • Develop personal expression through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques

For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided
