Jewellery & Silverwork - Make a Silver Sea Glass Ring

Course intent

On this one-day workshop you will be given all the skills to design and make your own silver and sea glass ring.

What will we cover?

You will be shown and use the skills of design, measuring, sawing, filing, shaping, bezel making, rub over setting and polishing to enable you to make your sea glass ring.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Beginners and those with some experience are welcome.

There is a stairway access to the Guildford jewellery room.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Bring a plain notebook and pencil (and some sea glass if you have some – there will be a choice of pieces if you haven’t any or the piece that you bring isn’t suitable)

Sea glass should be no more than 4mm thick.

Wear closed toe shoes (no flip flops)

Remove long scarves.

Long hair to be tied back.

You may wish to bring an apron or wear old clothes.

What can I do when I finish the course?

In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto our other jewellery courses – daytime, evenings or one day workshops.
