Mixed Media & Collage Workshop

Course intent

Working from observation or from your imagination, in this one-day workshop you will create a pleasing autumn-themed painting using watercolours, or acrylics or inks (or any combination of these media) and collage.

Enjoy the well-being benefits gained through working in a friendly, creative learning environment.

What will we cover?

• How to create your own papers (or use bought hand-made special papers) for collage

  • How to combine these with other collage items like threads and fabrics with your chosen coloured medium/media.
  • Assembling and layering your collage

Learners will be inspired by the contemporary and historical context and will need to keep a sketchbook / notebook to record ideas, processes and progress, and the feedback they receive from the tutor.

There will be demonstrations, instruction, one-to-one tutorial guidance, group discussions and critiques.

To ensure that learners make good progress with their personal learning goals, the tutor will work with the learner on their Individual Learning Plan.
