Manual Bookkeeping - Stage 2

Course intent

This is a follow-on course from Manual Bookkeeping - Stage 1 and provides good foundation to those who wish to go on to study accounting qualifications. Bookkeeping is the record-keeping process of financial accounting, and involves preparing source documents for all transactions, operations, and other events of a business.

We'll evaluate your skills and provide a course offer, which you must accept to secure your place.

What will we cover?

Double Entry to Trial Balance and the preparation of Financial Statements.

Capital v Revenue Expenditure

Introduction to the yearend adjustments to Financial Statements for inventory, accruals and prepayments, depreciation and bad debts.

Using journals and the correction of errors.

Preparing control accounts.

Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

The course is suitable for anyone who has attended Stage 1. You must have basic literacy and numeracy skills.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring pens, pencils, eraser, ruler notepad/paper and calculator (basic).

Textbook – to be advised if required.
