Public Footpath 391 (Dormansland)

Notice

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) and (2)
The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 391 (Dormansland)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 30 May 2023 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of public footpath 391 (Dormansland), between points A and B, as shown by the solid black line on the accompanying plan reference. 3/1/129/H15.

The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to a void under the bridge and subsequent investigation and repair works required. It will be in operation from 1 June 2023 until 30 November 2023 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route from the western end of the closure is to proceed north on Station Road for approximately 400 metres, before bearing right onto Rushfords and continuing onto Footpath 388 (Dormansland). Proceed along Footpath 388 in a generally easterly direction for approximately 350 metres until you reach the junction with Footpath 389. Bear right and in a southerly direction for approximately 220 metres until you meet the eastern end of the closure.

The 'Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 391 (Dormansland) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023' was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
