Public Footpath 27b (Esher)

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1)
The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 27b (Esher)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 1 September 2023 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 27b (Esher), within the red circle, as shown by the solid black line on the accompanying plan ref. 3/1/77/H45.

The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to water main replacement works taking place under the footpath. It will be in operation from 1 September 2023 until 29 February 2024 for an initial period of 6 months; at which point it will be extended further by the Secretary of State, while the relevant notices are displayed.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

A short alternative route is being provided around the works, corresponding to the dotted line on the plan. This will be surfaced and fenced to ensure safe passage for members of the public.
