Public Footpath 17 Ockham temporary closure

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1)
The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 17 (Ockham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 23 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 17 (Ockham) which extends for approximately 135 metres from point A (Grid reference: 507794 158868), north-west of the A3, to point B (Grid reference: 507904 158806), south-east of the A3, and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/60/H23.

The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to construction of the M25 junction 10/A3 Wisley interchange improvements project. It will be in operation from 23 February 2024 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

There are no suggested alternative routes.

The 'Surrey County Council Public Footpath 17 (Ockham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024' will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
