Course intent
We know that completing job applications forms can be a tedious task so let us support you in writing accurate and successful applications in no time! This workshop will help you in re-familiarising yourself with your relevant employment and educational history to highlight, guide you through effectively matching your strengths to the person specification, and talk you through how to consider suitable references. You’ll also be given tips on proof-reading your application forms before you press submit. You ARE what they are looking for!
You will be attending 1 x 120-minute sessions. These classes will be real time online session via Zoom.
How to Apply
There are three ways to apply on this course. You can:
- complete the form on our website;
- call us on 0300 200 1044, 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday; or
- visit one of our centres.
We'll evaluate your skills and provide a course offer, which you must accept to secure your place.
What will we cover?
During the course you will be covering the following topics:
- Identifying relevant education and employment history to include
- Matching strengths to the essential criteria of a person specification and giving examples
- Suitable references
- Proof-reading tips
For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is for learners who have recently been made unemployed and would like support in completing job application forms.
This course will be delivered through live online sessions using Zoom.
To fully participate in this course, you will need:
- An email address
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop /tablet with a fully updated browser
- microphone and webcam.
Once enrolled on this course you will receive detailed instructions for taking part online.
As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need access to a computer/laptop/tablet with a reliable internet connection, working microphone, and webcam. If you struggle to read printed text on a screen, you may find it beneficial to have access to a printer to make your own hard copies of resources.
This is a live, interactive course and you will need to log on at the given time to access the course.
