iPad Digital Skills & Confidence - Stage 2

Course intent

Designed as a follow on to the Stage 1 course and through comprehensive instruction, you will be brought up to speed with the latest iOS features, enabling you to navigate the intricacies of various built-in apps, harness advanced functions, and uncover valuable tips and tricks to elevate your iPad experience. By course completion, individuals will possess a thorough comprehension of cutting-edge iOS features and skill in using built-in apps. Prepare to unlock the untapped potential of your iPad and emerge as a confident and knowledgeable iOS user!

How to Apply

There are three ways to apply on this course. You can:

  • complete the form on our website;
  • call us on 0300 200 1044, 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday; or
  • visit one of our centres.

We'll evaluate your skills and provide a course offer, which you must accept to secure your place.

What will we cover?

• Exploring the Calendar to keep you organised.

  • Creating Reminders
  • Using the built in Measure, Magnify and Translate apps.
  • Mastering iTunes Store and iTunes Vouchers
  • Exploring iBooks and Podcasts and understanding how to listen to Music.
  • Recording Voice Memos
  • Creating Notes to store and scan information
  • Copying and pasting information between apps
  • Customising apps using Settings, increasing storage and syncing apps across Apple devices.
  • Advanced Features such as Multitasking to split the screen.
  • Setting up and Managing Notifications
  • Communicating with other iOS users using iMessage
  • Customising the Control Centre and the Today View and Widgets
  • Explore features of Safari such as adding bookmarks and sharing links
  • Tips, Tricks, and Shortcuts
  • Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for learners who have attended iPad Stage 1 and those who already have experience using an iPad.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

• Your own iPad

  • iPad charger.
  • A pen and notepad if you wish to take notes.
  • Handouts and exercises will be provided.

    You may like to progress onto another Surrey Adult learning course, such as:
