Chess Taster - All Abilities

Course intent

Pay and play for one session only.

Try out this fascinating strategic and problem-solving board game. In every chess game, you are faced with challenges and problems that you must solve to play your best game. Chess can help you to think ahead, not rush decision making, and weigh the pluses and minuses of your choices. Chess has been proven to increase your IQ, improve memory function, help develop higher levels of creativity, simultaneously exercise both sides of the brain, help prevent memory loss or dementia, and increase problem solving skills.

What will we cover?

Over this 3.5 hour your tutor will provide a taster to:

  • Know how to move the pieces.
  • Introduction to special rules of the game
  • Rules and techniques.

    Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

    This course is for all from complete beginners to those wanting to refresh or develop their skills.

You may be asked to study independently for at least 10 minutes a day. Our courses are taught in English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

There are no extra costs for this course.

What can I do when I finish the course?

We offer Chess courses which you may like to try. Our chess courses are planned to provide a clear pathway for progression, through the academic year, and beyond.
