Pottery Workshop - Throwing - Beginners [SSK]

Course intent

SAL’s intent is to provide inclusive learning in the community which enhances personal development, encourages learners to live healthy, active lives and improves employability and skills.

If you are keen to have a go at throwing pots on a potter’s wheel and to finish off your pots to a really good standard, then this is the workshop for you

What will we cover?

Learn to:

  • Throw clay on an electric potter's wheel in a variety of ways.
  • Create pots in stoneware clay using the potter’s wheel.
  • Develop your basic pottery skills through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques.

Pots made during the workshop will be either bisque fired ready for collection at the beginning of September or if you are an existing learner, pots can be collected at the leather hard stage ready for turning in your existing course.
