Pottery Workshop - Throwing - Intermediates [SSK]

Course intent

SAL’s intent is to provide inclusive learning in the community which enhances personal development, encourages learners to live healthy, active lives and improves employability and skills.

What will we cover?

You will learn:

  • To improve your throwing skill by concentrating on correct techniques and creating different shapes on the potter’s wheel.
  • Develop your basic pottery skills through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques.

All pots will be created in stoneware clay.

Pots made during the workshop will be either bisque fired ready for collection at the beginning of September or if you are an existing learner, pots can be collected at the leather hard stage ready for turning in your existing course.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

It is essential that you wear closed toe shoes (not sandals or flip flops) and bring an apron or wear old clothes. Also bring an old towel and packed lunch.
