Family Learning - Read with your Child (EAL) Workshop

What will I learn?

On this FREE online 2-hour workshop, you will work with the tutor and other parents who speak English as an additional language to discuss how sharing a book with your child offers different learning opportunities.

  • Learn useful tips on how to read with your child and why it is important
  • Find out what questions to ask when reading
  • Learn how to check if your child has understood what they are reading
  • Share useful websites and resources
  • Is this course for me?

If you are new to the UK or went to school in another country and are a parent/carer of a child aged 4-11 this workshop will help you understand how to read and share books with your child. If you have booked on the English for EAL Families 5-week course, you do not need to attend this separate workshop.

    Intent

You will develop your skills and knowledge in how to read and share books with your child and know where to find out more information. This will be positive for your family.
