Watercolour Painting - Intermediates

Course intent

You will learn to develop and improve your basic skills in the use and application of Watercolour, covering a wide variety of subject matter from still life to landscape and natural forms

What will we cover?

• You will improve your use of tone, colour mixing & ‘harmony’

  • You will learn more advanced composition and perspective using a variety of media and subject matter
  • Practice techniques and brush work
  • Gaining confidence in using both drawing and painting materials
  • Have access to one to one support
  • The overall aim is to help you discover and develop your abilities through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques

Where this course consists of more than one session you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

The course is for Improvers, those who have experience from beginners & intermediates courses and wish to improve their skill set. They are given full support and are welcome.

For adults aged 18 years or older.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring whatever watercolour materials you may have (good quality brands if possible).

A3 watercolour pad (300 gsm), sketch pad and pencils HB, 2B, 4B, rubber and sharpener, a set of watercolours (Daler Rowney or Windsor and Newton if possible), a set of brushes: round no.3, no.10 and flat 1”. Masking fluid.

Sketchbook / notebook & pen.

You will need to complete some course documentation to help assess your progress.

What can I do when I finish the course?

Learners may wish to progress on a more advanced course or one covering different painting materials or techniques in more depth
