Psychology - Exploring Psychology - Summer

Course intent

This course explores the fascinating subject of psychology through topics that are relevant to our understanding of contemporary society.

What will we cover?

Each term, approximately five subjects will be covered which give learners an insight into the way people think and behave from different perspectives. Whilst the course in general has an overall focus on Social Psychology, aspects of Cognitive, Clinical and Developmental Psychology are also examined, where relevant. The topics are presented in a way that enables learners to explore and discuss research findings and case studies as part of the learning process. Topics for this term will include ‘Health Psychology’, ‘Child Development’ and ‘Sibling Relationships’.

For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

What can I do when I finish the course?

This course offers learners a fresh insight into understanding human thought and behaviour, which can be advantageous in a variety of occupations. It is also good preparation for formal studies in Psychology.
