Drawing & Painting - Advanced

Course intent

The course will establish a range of advanced methods of drawing & painting through the use of sketchbook, photographs, found images or direct observation

What will we cover?

• Develop individual skills in tone, colour and composition

• Researching & inspiring other artists work
• Gaining confidence in using both drawing and painting materials
• Have access to one to one support
• The overall aim is to help you discover and develop your abilities through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques

Where this course consists of more than one session you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

For improving and advanced painters with a good understanding of the subject. Particularly for those who want to be encouraged to develop a more creative, or abstract approach.

For adults aged 18 years or older.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Bring whatever drawing & painting materials you may already have purchased, or a pad of A3 cartridge paper, soft grade of pencils (4B or 6B), soft rubber and/or a graphite stick for the first session.

Any materials and resources that you may need throughout the course will be discussed at induction.

What can I do when I finish the course?

In discussion with your tutor you may like to progress onto further Arts & Crafts courses. Learners may wish to continue with advanced courses or select one covering different painting materials or techniques in more depth
