Cookery - Authentic Lebanese Cooking (CWS)

Course intent

If you’re interested in authentic Lebanese cuisine using fresh ingredients, this workshop could be for you. Award winning Lebanese cook, Lina Saad will lead you through the techniques and traditions used in real Lebanese cooking. You will gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to create tasty dishes (hot and cold) to serve and share long after the workshop.

What will we cover?

During this 3-hour workshop you will learn how to prepare and cook three traditional Lebanese dishes from scratch, using fresh ingredients, traditional spices, and flavourings. You will be making the famous baba ghanoush, the best treat of cheese & Zaatar rolls, chicken or lamb kebabs and Arabic flat bread.

Your tutor Lina Saad is passionate about Lebanese cookery and looks forward to sharing her heritage, experiences, and recipes with you. “I will be giving hints & tips for flavours that you enjoy and star ingredients that will compliment your dishes. See you at the workshop”

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This workshop is suitable for all, but not complete beginners. Less confident cooks are encouraged to limit the number of dishes. This workshop is suitable for vegetarians or any other specific dietary requirements. Lina will be able to suggest alternative ingredients.

You will be required to meet hygiene and safety requirements, including frequent handwashing, recycling waste appropriately and cleaning your own work surfaces and equipment.

This workshop is delivered in English, contact Customer Services if you need any support with your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You will need to bring some ingredients with you. You will receive an email in good time outlining the resources you will need, including a shopping list of items you will need to purchase.

Please ensure you bring an apron, oven-gloves, and your own tea-towel. It is important to wear clothes and footwear suitable for a busy, hot kitchen. If you wish to wear latex/nitrile gloves, you will need to provide. It is an individual choice to wear a face covering.

What can I do when I finish the course?

At the end of this workshop, in discussion with your Lina, you can decide what the best progression for you might be. We have three Lebanese Workshop – perhaps try others, or we have a range of general and more specialist cookery and baking courses available, throughout the year.
