Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2025
On 22 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Footpath 52 from Rosemary Lane at Grid Reference 501830 168674 in a westerly direction to Footpath 53 at Grid Reference 501657 168692.
The Order is necessary in order to allow for the continued development of 24 residential dwellings for which planning permission has been granted (RU22/0682) The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from Friday 7 August 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. No access to properties will be affected by the temporary closure.
The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of Footpath 52 will be: proceed in a southerly direction for 92 metres then in a north westerly direction for 263 metres through the Frank Muir Playing Field.
The alternative route for traffic from the western end of Footpath 52 will be the reverse of the route described above.
‘The Surrey County Council Public Footpaths 52 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025’ was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
