Footpath 160 (Bletchingley)
Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024

On 22 February 2024 Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Footpath 160 (Bletchingley) from its junction with Footpath 627 (Bletchingley) at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference 532090 152677 in an easterly turning to south westerly direction for a distance of 711 metres to its junction with Footpath 629 (Bletchingley) at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference 531982 152136.

The Order is necessary in order to complete mineral extraction and restoration of the development for which planning permission has been granted (TA2020/434 & RE20/00463/CON) whilst protecting the heath and safety of members of the public. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 1 March 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of closure will be: proceed west along Footpath 627 for 179 metres, then south west for 471 metres along Footpath 162 and Footpath 161, then continue east, then south, then south east along Footpath 629 for 701 metres.

The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.

The Surrey County Council Footpath 160 (Bletchingley)Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
