Notice of Making of an Order

Highways Act 1980 and Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981

Footpath Nos. 64 & 65 (Elstead)
Public Path Diversion Order 2022

The above Order, made on 14 June 2022, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 will, if confirmed:

  • Divert Footpath 64 (Elstead) running from a point 219 metres north of its junction with Farnham Road (Grid ref. 490586 144017) in a generally northerly direction for 342 metres to Footpath 65 (Elstead) (Grid ref. 490512 144340) to a line running from the same point in a generally northerly and then south westerly direction for 284 metres to Footpath 65 (Elstead) (Grid ref. 490479 144186) as shown on the order map.
  • Divert Footpath 65 (Elstead) running from a point 214 metres north east of its junction with Farnham Road (Grid ref. 490471 144037) running in a northerly direction for 34 metres to Footpath 65 (Grid ref. 490469 144070) to a line running from the same point in a north westerly direction for 20 metres to Footpath 65.
  • Divert Footpath 65 (Elstead) running from a point 130 metres south of its junction with Footpath 64 (Elstead) (Grid ref. 490470 144224) running in a north westerly and then north easterly direction for 96 metres (Grid ref. 490495 144311) to a line running from the same point in a north westerly and then north easterly direction for 102 metres to the same point as shown on the order map.

A copy of the Order and Map may be seen free of charge at the Countryside Access Office, Surrey County Council, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ (by appointment Tel. 0300 200 1003) and at Waverley Borough Council Offices, The Burys, Godalming, GU7 1HR and Cranleigh Library, High Street, Cranleigh, GU6 8AE during opening hours. A copy of the Order may be purchased from the County Council for £4.

Any representations or objections to the Order must be sent in writing to Countryside Access quoting reference JP/3/1/8 at Surrey County Council, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ by 25 July 2022. Please state the grounds on which they are made. If no representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Surrey County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. Any representations not withdrawn will be sent with the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation.
