Description

This is a 18 month fixed term contract.

Surrey County Council has a high profile as one of the largest local authorities in England, but we currently have some tough challenges and have embarked on a programme of radical change. About the role

As a Public Relations Apprentice you will play a key role in our dynamic and friendly communications team. You will communicate with different people throughout the organisation and work across the whole team helping with the delivery of our external and internal campaigns. You will be responsible to understand the organisations values and goals by using your digital and communications skills to deliver the day to day tasks. You will need to familiarize yourself with the communications team's social media channels and also the internal channels we use to communicate with everyone in the organisation. The occupation requires using one's own initiative while supporting those leading on campaigns. Amongst working on the creative projects we produce you will have the opportunity to support with the press office, dealing with press releases and policy statements by using an accurate and effective written communication style tailored to different audiences and media.

Skills

We are looking for someone who has great attention to detail and is able to communicate well with different levels of staff. Someone who can take on multiple projects at once and can execute work on strict deadlines. Willingness to support staff when needed and who can share their creativity in the development of new ideas to the rest of the team. Most importantly an enthusiastic and can-do attitude.

Qualifications

A level or have completed an advanced apprenticeship
