Our interior and grounds
We’ve made significant upgrades to Rylston to enhance comfort, accessibility, and sustainability. These include:
- Two beautifully redecorated ceremony rooms that complement the building’s historic elegance
- A new lift, making all areas of the building fully accessible
- Carbon-efficient heating systems and windows
- Improved disabled access, including ramp access at all entrances and disabled cloakroom facilities
Set within a graceful Edwardian building dating back to 1911, Rylston offers two ceremony rooms each with its own unique charm.
- Entrance hall: A welcoming entrance hall with a beautifully restored staircase offering a stylish first impression for couples and guests.
- Waiting area: A comfortable waiting area for couples and guests to relax before the ceremony begins, with double doors onto the large secluded garden.
- Garden: Located at the rear, the spacious landscaped garden offers a peaceful, private setting perfect for photographs and for couples and guests to enjoy after the ceremony.
- Parking: There is a free car park on site, with additional spaces located nearby.
Large ceremony room - Buckingham option
The Buckingham option ideal for a sophisticated celebration, suitable for the couple and up to 48 guests (including children and babies).
Blending period charm with a fresh, contemporary feel, the large room has been tastefully refurbished in soft, neutral tones and features a grand bay window and elegant chandeliers, creating a tranquil and welcoming setting for your celebration.

Small ceremony room - Oatlands option
The Oatlands option is ideal if you're looking for a more intimate celebration, with our smaller ceremony room accommodating up to 20 guests (including children and babies).
Thoughtfully decorated in calming green hues with vibrant, nature-inspired wallpaper and a beautiful statement chandelier, creating the perfect setting for your ceremony.

History of Rylston House
The land in which Rylston is situated on was originally royal hunting grounds at the time of Henry VIII. The house itself was built in 1911. It was purchased by Surrey County Council in 1963 and in 1993 became a Register Office.
It has undergone some structural changes over the years, but the overall exterior of the house has hardly changed. It is a beautiful detached house with a large porch at the entrance. The property is an excellent example of the Arts and Crafts architectural style, featuring original oak panelling and fireplaces.
