Step 4: Book your ceremony

Once you have chosen your ceremony option you can book your marriage or civil partnership ceremony at a register office or licensed venue.

Before you book your ceremony

Licensed venues

If you have chosen to have your ceremony at a licensed venue, you must check the venue's availability before you use our online booking system. Our booking system will not check licenced venues availability for you.

Register office

If you have chosen to have your ceremony at one of our Surrey register offices, please book online using the links below.

Read our bookings terms and conditions. Note that we offer a 14-day cooling off period during which you can cancel the booking without loss of prepayments.

How to book

You can book your civil marriage or civil partnership ceremony online. This is the quickest and most efficient way to check registrars availability and finalise your booking.

You can book your ceremony up to two years in advance of your ceremony date.

You do not need to have any specific paperwork or identity documents to book your ceremony.

Book your civil partnership ceremony

Once you have made your booking, you will receive payment confirmation through GOV.UK Pay.

All bookings are provisional until they have been reviewed and approved by a registrar from Surrey Registration Service. You should receive a booking confirmation email from Surrey Registration Service the next working day after your booking was made.

If you are unable to book online, please use our ceremonies enquiry form to contact us.

Are you considering a celebrant?

When booking a Surrey ceremony, our experienced ceremony celebrants are included in your booking. There is no requirement for you to book any third party celebrant services. If you are considering booking an independent celebrant, we recommend you contact us (via our ceremonies enquiry form) to discuss this further.
