This course will give parents/carers the tools to obtain the skills and knowledge needed to make a positive impact and make positive changes to family life.
What will I learn?
This is a FREE online 2 hour workshop will help you to understand how to support your child initiate and maintain healthy relationships with their friends and find ways to support your child to manage friendships positively
- To support your child with initiating and maintaining healthy relationships.
- To understand the term empathy and find ways to teach your child how to use this to strengthen friendships.
- To explore the concept of managing conflicts
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
If you are a parent/carer or grandparent of a Primary School child and living in Surrey, this course will help you understand how to support your child about positive healthy friendships This is delivered online via Zoom
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need to:
- Have your camera on
- Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
- Please attend all sessions
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
- A pen and paper
- Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.
- Fill out the `Tell us what you think` form
- Contact us on family.learning@surreycc.gov.uk if you have any questions
What can I do when I finish the course?
At the end of this course we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with Surrey Adult Learning, a college or employment
Additional information
We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
