Description

This role has a starting salary of £22,475 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

We offer contracts from 8 to 36 hours a week (in blocks of 4 hours). Hours worked at weekends or on bank holidays attract an additional unsocial hours payment (50%).

We are excited to be hiring new Reablement Assistants to join our fantastic Reablement team. We have posts available across Surrey. Our hub bases are in Redhill, Leatherhead, Camberley, Woking and Guildford. Joining us a Reablement Assistant, you will be doing something that really matters.

 An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for this role.

About the Team 

 When individuals experience a period of illness, that makes day-to-day living difficult, the Surrey County Council reablement Team is there to support them. We work within people's homes to help them regain daily living skills and independence and promote their wellbeing. We work with people for up to 6 weeks to help them achieve their potential.

About the Role 

Reablement Assistants provide support with all daily living tasks, including medication and mobility. You will be there to ensure dignity, choice and control is maintained for those who feel like they have lost it from their lives. You will provide support and guidance and a helping hand. You will help the individual to work towards the goals set out in their reablement plan.

Reablement Assistants work closed with families / carers and other professionals to support individuals.

The reablement service is provided 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The core hours of the team are from 7am to 10pm daily. Therefore, team members need to be flexible regarding their work patterns.

Shortlisting Criteria

You do not need previous experience in this area, as training will be provided. Your application will demonstrate a passion to help others. A natural communicator, you will deal easily with sensitive and sometimes difficult situations. You will either hold, or be willing to work towards, an NVQ Health and Social Care qualification.

A valid UK driver's licence and a vehicle with business insurance is essential for this role.
