We are hiring an Income Officer to join our fantastic Banking Team. This role is within Surrey's Finance and Purchasing Service, who manage the transactional elements covering; income, banking, debt recovery, payments, orders, customer data and query handling via a helpdesk.
This role is based at Dakota House in Weybridge. This is a hybrid role split between home and office working. Office attendance is 2 days a week, which may increase during periods of training.

The Banking Team provides essential support and guidance on managing local bank accounts, including opening and closing accounts, facilitating BACS transactions, MiVision (school purchasing cards), and processing applications for internet banking and cash cards.
Additionally, the team supports Corporate Finance and non-School teams with tasks such as investigating unallocated income, obtaining daily bank statements, processing CHAPS and Direct Debit payments, coordinating cash collection services, and managing BACS payments and recalls.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of Surrey's corporate banking function. In this position, you will be responsible for processing payment requests from both internal and external customers, including BACS and CHAPS transactions. You will administer bank accounts, allocate income (including cheques), and clear data. Additionally, you will manage Direct Debit processes, upload and review daily bank statements, and reconcile bank balances. Issuing customer invoices and handling and resolving customer queries will also be key aspects of your role.
As part of a small, dynamic team, flexibility and strong prioritisation skills are key. We are seeking a team player with high attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and a great communicator to fulfil this important role.

- Financial & Banking Knowledge – Experience in handling income transactions, reconciliations, and banking procedures.
- Attention to Detail – Ability to accurately process payments, investigate discrepancies, and maintain financial records.
- Analytical Skills – Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve income allocation issues and unallocated funds.
- Technical Proficiency – Familiarity with financial systems, spreadsheets, and banking software.
- Communication Skills – Clear and professional communication with internal teams, customers, and financial institutions both in writing and verbally.
- Organisational Skills – Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritise workload effectively.
