Ways to pay for major adaptations to your home

Self-funding your adaptation for major home adaptations

If you don't qualify for a grant to help you to adapt your home, you will need to fund the work yourself. You may still be able to ask for a Surrey County Council occupational therapist (OT) to assess your needs.

Contact Adult Social Care to ask for advice.

In some areas, the waiting list to get an assessment is very long, so you may want to use a private OT instead.

Find a private OT from the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOTS).
