Surrey Skills Training

Surrey Skills Training provides free learning and development opportunities for adult social care providers in Surrey.

The offer supports providers to develop confident, capable staff and deliver high-quality care for people who live in Surrey.

About Surrey Skills Training

Surrey Skills Training is part of the Adults Academy at Surrey County Council. It offers accessible, high-quality training for adult social care providers, including domiciliary care providers, personal assistants, supported living services, residential care homes and nursing homes.

The programme is designed to support statutory and mandatory learning requirements, strengthen practice, and help providers prepare for regulation and inspection. Training may include classroom sessions, virtual learning and e-learning modules.

Access training through MyLearning

You can make bookings, view your upcoming bookings and see your past certificates through our booking system, called MyLearning.  The Surrey Skills Training portion of the system can be accessed by heading to the Surrey Skills Training login page:

Creating an account

If you are new to MyLearning, you will need to create an account before you can book courses or access e-learning. The account creation process is quick and only needs to be completed once.  You will require an account for each person that will be booking on a course.  Currently, you will not be able to manage the bookings of staff from a single account.

Before booking courses, please ensure that you or your member of staff will be able to join.  If circumstances change, the place must be cancelled as soon as possible. We have a no-show policy that you can find in the download section of this page, which you will need to familiarise yourself with before booking a place.

In-house support fund

If your organisation has a training need that is not covered by the current Surrey Skills Training programme, you may be able to request support through the in-house support fund.

The fund is intended to help eligible adult social care providers access targeted learning and development activity where there is a clear benefit to the quality and safety of care for people living in Surrey.

You can make a submission by completing the submission form.

What requests should show

• The provider delivers adult social care services within Surrey.
• The training will have a clear and direct benefit for people receiving care in Surrey.
• The training need cannot reasonably be met through existing Surrey Skills Training courses or other readily available learning.
• The request supports statutory or mandatory learning needs, regulatory readiness, or improvement in care quality.

Requests are reviewed by a Surrey Skills Training panel. The panel considers eligibility, quality, value for money and alignment with Surrey County Council priorities before making a decision.
